ADSMers,
We have a problem. If the wrong tape is put in the entry/exit port on
our
Storage Tech 9730 library does not let us remove the wrong tape so we can
put in the right one. Has anyone encountered this? Is it and ADSM issue or
a Storage Tech issue?

The procedure is as follows:
        1) The following command is run: checkin libv LB0.0.0.6 000006
status=scratch (library name=LB0.0.0.6 volume name=     000006).
        2) The wrong volume is placed in the door.
        3) The request is replied to.
        4) ADSM checks the volume label and sees it is the wrong one. It puts
the
volume back in the entry exit door.
        5) The activity log has the following message ANR8786I 0001: Remove DLT
volume from entry/exit port; insert volume 000006 R/W into entry/exit port
of library LB0.0.0.6 within 60 minute(s); issue 'REPLY' along with the
request ID when ready.
        6) THE PROBLEM IS HERE - We can't open the entry exit port. The LCD
screen
on the library says "CAP LOCKED, NO ENTRY".

I know that these libraries can be opened and that the tape can be
removed
and replaced from inside once the door is open but this is not an option.
The libraries need to be locked and the tapes need to come through the
entry/exit port because we don't want our operators opening up the
library
door.

Is there a way that we can over ride the library and get it to unlock
the
cap?

Thanks,
        Kyle
