ADSM-L

Alan,

we are very interested in that topic, too. Right now we use the classic
combination of (reduced) mksysbs (over the net) and NIM installs to setup a
basic system and then use ADSM to get back the rest. But our goal is to make
this a one-step operation.

For the restore process AFAIK there is no need to create a special NIM boot
method. Just run a "bosinst", provide a bundle with the ADSM filesets and use a
script to customize ADSM and do a full (or partial) restore.

For the backup the easiest method may be using the ADSM "pipeline" API and
sample programs and hack the mksysb script to use write the data into that
pipeline. Due to lack of time I did not play with the sample code until now -
can somebody jump in here?

Mit freundlichem Gruss/Best Regards
