Short and ugly answer -- when Microsoft provides a documented, supported interface for this.

The supported (by Microsoft) technique is to restore the information store to a duplicate server and export the folders or mailbox.

database with the ADSM Agent Connect for Exchange ???
If not, why ??? When will we have this important feature for
