Hi Martijn,

I believe the errno=27 is a return code from AIX
meaning that the file is too large. In your case,
when you are formatting a file greater than 2G, make
sure that you filesystem and the OS do support it.
(The filesystem should have been created with Large
File Enabled)

Subject: dsmfmt error

Hi,

A quick question, hope someone can give me a quick answer...
I am trying to format a storage pool volume with 'dsmfmt' (ADSM on AIX):

% dsmfmt /bfaa1dk7/bf 4700

ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager/6000
AIX ADSM Server DSMFMT Extent/Volume Formatting Program

...

Error writing file /bfaa1dk7/bf, errno = 27

The program exits with this message and no file is created.
What does this error code mean? Which book describes these codes?

Thanx!
Martijn.
