When I first heard about Enterprise Event Logging I was quite excited. I
imagined that all backup events could be logged as backup events to a
central server. I then pictured that Ops support could use their web
browser to logon to this central server and then query all exception backup
events to get a list of all backups that had failed for that day in the
enterprise.

I.E Web Client issues Q EVENT * * Type=Client Exceptionsonly=yes in the
background

So I was a little dissappointed to learn that events are purely ADSM
messages only. I realize that with these messages it may be possible to
determine similar information but it certainly a lot more complicated. Any
comments or ideas on how to do something similar using the messages ?

Also while I am here where are events stored in the ADSM database. I would
like use an SQL query against the database to determine failed events. Once
again I had assumed there was a table called EVENTS or something like that
could be used. Does the QUERY EVENT command supplied by ADSM use the
activity log somehow to determine its output.?
