Steve,

Here is some syntax from a script that runs our backups with pipe on 2.6
(v3.1.2.0 server, 3.1.0.6 client):

adsmpipe -cf $pipename/$x -l ${size}K < $rawvol

pipename is the filespace name
x is the basename of $rawvol (like c2_domshp1.86)
size is the size in KB
rawvol is something like /dev/vx/rdsk/cs2dg/c2_domshp1.86

size is calculated with vxprint output. so it might look like:

adsmpipe -cf ishlibA/c2_domshp1.86 -l 2048000K <
/dev/vx/rdsk/cs2dg/c2_domshp1.86

Thanks,

David

 Subject: adsmpipe command syntax

Hi All,

I am not having any luck getting adsmpipe to do anything except spit
out useless error messages. Can someone be so kind as to post an
adsmpipe command that they are using tht works?

I cannot tell if it is improperly built, or if it just plain will not
work on Solaris 2.6 that is using a V3 client. I did build it using the
supplied v2 API libraries.

Thanks,

Steve (unVMix Systems Programmer/Dude) Roder
