My experience shows this works even with a single processor. Pentium II
350 Mhz system appeared to use about 25% of the CPU per backup stream.
This system with only 128 MB of memory as well and a single 100 MBit NIC.
Never, never, never build giant disk volumes. The Romans new this. Divide
and conquer.
