The following sequence describes the ADSM Server Disaster Recovery without DRM.
You will notice that the restore stgpool for the primary tape pool only occurs
after we have recovered the clients and begin putting the server back in to
"normal" operation mode.

This example assumes that the recovery machine has the operating system
installed and operational, the ADSM server and administrative client have been
installed, and we have devices that can read the database backup and copy
storage pool removable media.
The following items are required to recover the ADSM server:
Database backup tapes
Storage pool backup tapes
Volume history file
Device configuration file
Server configuration information
Step 1: Locate the most recent database backup volumes
Step 2: Restore the original DSMSERV.OPT, VOLHIST.OUT and DEVCNFG.OUT files
Step 3: Edit DSMSERV.OPT to reflect the correct location of VOLHIST.OUT and
DEVCNFG.OUT
Step 4: Edit DEVCNFG.OUT to accurately reflect library and drive configuration
(if different from original)
Step 6: Restore the database (recreating original DB and LOG volumes)
Step 7: Restart the server
Step 8: Update access mode of the primary storage pool volumes to destroyed
Step 9: Checkout old scratch volumes (that are assumed to have been lost in
the disaster)
Step 10: Update access mode of copy storage pool volumes (to reflect they are
read/write or readonly instead of offsite)
Step 11: Restore clients
Step 12: Restore disk pool (here's were we start putting the server back in
normal mode)
Step 13: Recover the primary tape pools
Step 14: Synchronize the database and primary storage pools(using audit
volume)
Step 15: Backup Database
Step 16: Checkout DB backup and copy stg pool volumes and send to offsite
