Hello,

has anyone experienced this ?

A backup session to optical storage on an 3995-C68 fails at about 41% of
the capacity of the 5.2GB-MO-disk rendering the disk set to access mode
read-only. The error is ANR1411W: "access mode set to read-only due to
write error". If the disk gets past the 41% then it will fail at about 91%
which is just telling us that the error occurred on the second surface of
the disk. Currently there is only one MO-disk in the library that managed
to hit 100%.

This happens on an NT-Server 4.0 SP3 with ADSM 3.1.2.1 and NT-Clients
3.1.0.6. Unfortunately, there is nothing else helpful in the logs. The
MO-disk cannot be recovered neither by an AUDIT VOL nor by a MOVE DATA to
another volume.

We suspect that ADSMSCSI is picky about timing issues during heavy loads on
the SCSI bus but unfortunately we can't track this down.
