The money spent trying to make that environment fast, IMHO, would be better
spent getting away from that environment.  Big NT iron is pretty cheap at
this point.

The original thought to utilize idle CPU ticks on the mainframe and to
employ large tape hardware was a good idea.  However, ADSM wants to not
only use idle CPU ticks, but any that it can find.  Correct me if I'm
wrong, but I don't think MVS was designed to do this.  It excels at
transaction processing, but this ain't that!
