I had the same problem at the company I used to work at. Like you I could
not get the didr disks to boot. I even had IBM reps come in and they also
had no success. I never had the 6 disk didr of those systems. we used
another method by placing another version on NT on the systems and booting
that and backing up the primary partition. this was successfull in the one
disaster that we had with the server. but is more time consuming and
reqires more hard drive space which we had.

        I can't for the life of me get OS/2 to boot past the DRM Disk1...
seems to crash right before it prompts for the next disk.  We have numerous
other servers that work fine, PC Server 325, 330, numerous workstations...
The only think I can see that would be any different is the 5500 and 7000's
integrated RAID controller..  I have checked IBM's site and there are no
specific OS/2 drivers for it..  Am I missing something?

The target DIDR server is an IBM Netfinity 5500
