Steve,

     Our experience with all ADSM disk volumes is that when vxfs is used on
a single physical volume   performance degrades by ~10 percent, but when
used  to stripe, or create a larger logical partition across multiple
physical disks, various (fair to very good) performance improvements have
been seen.  It seems that configuring and tuning vxfs can require a fair
amount of study.
     In most customer situations where vxfs has been used, very frequently
a Sun SE that specializes in the Veritas volume manager would do the
configuration and tuning.

Jim,

     Do you have any performance data when the ADSM database are under a
filesystem such as Veritas' vxfs?  We are leaning toward doing that
here...
