Backing up CAD systems

Hi ADSM-ers,
Our CAD systems (like our databases) can get quite large.
As all of our CAD systems keep the names of the drawings
in a separate index file and assign cryptic names or numbers
to the data files it seems rather complicated to restore a single
drawing.
Recently I had to do a restore:
* Start the ADSM GUI for restore
* Select active/inactive files for display
* Define a filter so only files before a given date will be
displayed
(I'm running ADSM/VM V2 so no Point in time restore is available)
* Restore *ALL* files to a new directory
* The user starts the CAD system with this new directory
* The user exports the desired drawing
* The user imports the drawing to the old CAD directroy
* The new directory is discarded
As this approach is very time consuming (I have to restore all files to
get a single one) I would like to speed it up.
How do you backup/restore your CAD drawings?
Any comments will be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
