I also encounter serious problems with buta. We run AFS 3.4a, AIX 4.3.1,
buta 3.1.20.6 and the server level is 3.1.2.1. Buta is very instable and
core dumps once a week. I had times when buta stopped several times a day.
This happend when one of our tape robots had errors. Migration from the disk
storage pools did not run properly. The storage pools filled up and many client
sessions hang around waiting for mount of offline media. I reported the
problem with buta to IBM 3 weeks ago but did not get a response up today.
