Hello,

I am having a problem getting the right managment class to work on one
of my UNIX boxes. My ADSM server is running on a OS390 MVS system.

On the unix box I display the mgm classes:

Domain Name               : MCGILL_PROD_MACHINES_COLOCATE
Activated Policy Set Name : MCGILL_COLOCATION_POLICY
Activation date/time      : 01/31/99   11:26:57
Default Mgmt Class Name   : KEEP_6_MONTHS
Grace Period Backup Retn. : 30 day(s)
Grace Period Archive Retn.: 365 day(s)

MgmtClass Name                  : KEEP_1_YEAR
Description                     : keep files for 1 year
Description                     : keep files for 3 months.

MgmtClass Name                  : KEEP_3_YEARS
Description                     : keep files for 3 years

MgmtClass Name                  : KEEP_6_MONTHS
Description                     : keep files for 6 months

MgmtClass Name                  : KEEP_7_YEARS
Description                     : keep files for 7 years


here is the  backup.excl file:

include /.../* KEEP_6_MONTHS
include /data/.../* KEEP_3_YEARS
exclude /var/adm/wtmp
exclude /var/adm/wtmpx
exclude /.../core
exclude /.../tmp/.../*
exclude /.../*.tar


I ran an incremental backup and just about every file got rebound to
a management class of  KEEP_7_YEARS    ??????????

Here is sample of files in  /data   as ADSM reports it:

WHAT GIVES????? KEEP_7_YEARS  isn't my deafult mgm class. Can someone
help me out on this??
