Yes, you CAN restore to a different box. You just have to make sure that
the partitions are at least as large as on the original box. The difference
is that you have to step through the registry recovery and skip restoring
the hardware registry.

There are several bare-metal restore redbooks that are linked from the ADSM
home page. I would suggest checking these out.

I'll try 1.

I would think not, unless that box is identical to the original as the
registry entries re. hardware would not be correct.  You could certainly
restore the "data" but not the OS and related files.

Re. 2.

I would think you could restore the "cluster" backup to one of the original
systems as long as all of the drives are visible to that system.  There was
an excellent description of the method to use to backup an NT cluster
provided here a number of weeks ago.  Perhaps the author of that note can
repost it here.  I don't think any of us see that one too many times.
