You must use USEUNICODEFILENAMES NO.

When using language AMENG, the default value is YES,
so you must explicitly code it in DSM.OPT.

When using language other than AMENG, the default is
NO. Thus if you omit USEUNICODEFILENAMES from DSM.OPT,
you do not need to code it. If you have USEUNICODEFILENAMES
YES then you must either change it to NO or remove it from
DSM.OPT.

Andy

"The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked."

Hello,

we will use Win95 client 3.1.0.6 with server MVS 3.1.1.3.

We use the parameter "language ameng" in the dsm.opt. ANd we have =
special
characters like umlaut (=F6=E4=FC) in our filenames.
Till now no problems noticed (but the test made were very basic), =
coding
USEUNICODEFILENAMES YES or NO:

So, what should we code: YES or NO to be conform with the recommended
parameter?

Thanks to any answer from IBM or adms'er.
