Am I oversimplifying this? Why not have them use the backup-archive
client gui and do an estimate for a total restore?
Open the gui, select restore, select the desired filespaces and select
estimate. This will provide the client with total size of active files.
To include inactive files, click on the active and inactive button
selection prior to selecting filespaces.
