Another thing that is very helpful:

If your email client has an "inbox assistant", as MS exchange does, you can
set up rules to have the "inbox assistant" filter out some of the stuff you
don't want.

For instance, I have mine automatically delete all the messages with AS400
and OS/2 or Warp in them, just because I don't have the time or the need to
keep up with those servers & clients.
