Ben,

If you are labeling all of the tapes in the library for the first time, I
would use the DSMLABEL utility. This will use all the drives. DSMLABEL is
in the /server/bin directory on UNIX systems, I believe. If not, grep or
whatever to find it! (Don't you hate non-UNIX guys trying to do UNIX?)

Before I started, I would do the following. Power off the robot. This way
it will do an inventory and hopefully find all the tapes.

Then:

DSMLABEL -library=/dev/lb0 -drive=/dev/mt0,element number
-drive=/dev/mt1,element number -drive= -drive=
-search -barcode -overwrite -keep
-search -barcode -overwrite -keep
You may specify as many drives as you want to use by providing the drive
You may specify as many drives as you want to use by providing the drive
device and the element number as I've indicated.

Be aware! DSMLABEL is not ADSM aware! So, if there are tapes in the robot
that have valid ADSM data on them, don't run this command!!!! I like to
use this command the very first time as it will use more than one tape
drive. When will label libvol add the option maxprocess= to the command?
