I have this same problem.

I have seen it on both a Netware server and a NT server backing up to a MVS
ADSM server. The ADSM server is version 3 revision 1 level 1.03 Both the
clients are version 3 release 1 level .03.

It does not always happen but when it does, the client was backing up a large
file (200mb+) and needed to switch tapes. We are currently using 200mb tapes.
The ADSM Administrator recently disabled colocation and the error persisted.

IBM has been informed of this problem and I have been given a reference of
PMR47531 Branch 49R.

I try to do an incremental backup of a file system not include the domain.

dsmc incr /db2backup

I have the following error:

Incremental backup of volume '/db2backup'
Normal File-->     1,405,095,936 /db2backup/DZE01/1/DZE01.0.db2.0.1998101219013
2.001  ** Unsuccessful **

Retry # 1  Normal File-->     1,405,095,936 /db2backup/DZE01/1/DZE01.0.db2.0.19
981012190132.001  ** Unsuccessful **
ANS1301E Server detected system error

When I backup each subdirectory like

dsmc incr /db2backup/DZE01, it works.

What means Server detected system error?

The file system size is too large?

Thanks in advance
