The ADSM NT backup client does fully support all attributes including NTFS
security descriptors
but I don't think this will help because I believe that the actual Exchange
objects are always in
use by Exchange (i.e. opened deny r/w) while Exchange is running are therefore
will not be accessible
to any other process including ADSM.

I'm not all that familiar with the Exchange agent but I assume that it uses
some sort of API that allows
indirect access to Exchange objects while Exchange is running.

Perhaps one of the Exchange agent developers could comment on this.

Christopher,
Thanks for your prompt reply. It sounds as though I need
two separate things, the Connect Agent for backing up Exchange, and the NT
Client for backing up the NT system itself. So do you know if the NT client
handles extended attributes associated with NT files (ie NTFS security
settings)...???
