Remember that there are other possible bottlenecks.  What is the source
disk configuration (are you using AIX software RAID 0?)?  Are you going
to a disk storage pool or tape?  What kind of tape, if tape?

If you are going to a disk storage pool, try using dd to copy a file
from the source filesystem to the destination filesystem (assuming you
are using JFS files for storage pool volumes).  What rates do you get?
