Thanks for your response.

We're using a tape drive with an automounter which can have 12 tapes. For the
moment, all of them are in used.

So if we want to copy the database and data every day to these "off site"
tapes.
Adsm will ask to load the first volume on the tape device, it will then ask for
another tape to be loaded (because we are using all the 12 tapes that are in
the device, no more tapes are available in the device) so that it can copy to
it.It means that ADSM will read a tape then ask for another to copy and for all
the 12 tapes. It's a lot of work every day. But maybe we misunderstand the
process of the copy. I hope I'm clear.

I would like to ask another question: Is ADSM will ask for new tapes(the one
which are on site) or we can run a sort of expiration process to always use
this *only* 12 tapes ?
