My opinion: Don't waste your time with RAID 5. Disks are cheap enough
that it is rarely economical. RAID 5 was designed to provide data
protection at less cost than mirroring, but all too often I see people
buying expensive raid controllers to offset the performance penalty.
They spend more on their "cheap" RAID 5 systems than they would have
by just mirroring and striping.
