Hi,

Don't you have problems with the tapes after the checkin, without using the
dsmlabel command ?

I had a problem when i inserted a new/clean tape into the unit and perform the
checkin command. The tapes then are not correctly checked in. The problem which
appear is that when i started a backup and the tapeunit uses the tape, in fills
the tape up to about 2% and then pick ups another tape.
After i use the dsmlabel command, the tape will be used for the fully 100%.

Strange ...insn't ?

Hi,

I also had error-codes by  CHECKIN LIBVOLUME.

I used the command "CHECKIN LIBVOL MAG SEARCH=BULK STAT=SCRATCH
CHECKL=BARCODE".
I think there is an I/O-Error only if the Tape is new and you label it for
the first time.

There are no Problems to work with the tapes after the Checkin.
