We are.  The only thing special we're doing is to stop Essbase before the
backups, then restart it afterwards.  They also elected to have an archive
of their filesystems instead of a regular incremental backup.  We use a
scheduling package called Autosys (from Platinum) instead of the ADSM
scheduler, so we have the Essbase stop job run, then the  ADSM job, then the
Essbase start job.
