I believe the specs for the reader in the Q47 specify five character
labels. I was involved with a customer that used six character labels and
they had all sorts of trouble. The reader would sometimes report one label
number and sometimes another. Needless to say this badly confused ADSM to
the point where it couldn't find tapes that were in the library. To the
point where data was lost. I guess I would make darn sure by contacting
BreeceHill to see if something has changed since that time. This was about
18 months ago.
