Hi there,

I wonder if any of you ADSMers can help.

I have a corrupted 35GB DLT tape in my library that unfortunately was the
first live backup of my largest AIX client. Recently this server failed
and managed to wreck 75% of its filesystems and so a number of restores
were required. Unfortunately practically every filesystem restore has a
small number of active files still left on this tape which hasn't been read
written to for 3 months or so, which is why we have found out that it is
damaged.

Each time this tape is read, the drive gets into a loop where it realises
that some files are damaged and takes a large amount of time to fail the
operation and stop. This of course raised issues about copy storage pools
and reclamation and the like, which will be looked at when the second tape
drive is added to the DLT library in a month or so.

For the time being all I want to do is either move the data off of this
damaged tape and onto another, or else get a list of the files that are
still active. I have a call open with IBM as to why an AUDIT VOLUME can
only examine 70 files in 17hours as has happened with this tape, so I am
looking at the list approach.

Does anyone know an SQL command to give me this list (all active files on
volume XXXX)? As far as I can see, it is the CONTENTS and BACKUPS table
that I need to query, but the filenames are help in different formats
(file_name vs. hl_name & ll_name)...

Can anyone help??

Stuart
