We have noticed a similar problem with HPUX, and AIX I think, where the
ADSM client and server will log in Eastern time (EST) if they are started
from /etc/initttab, but have the correct Central (CST) time if they are
started manually from the command line.  We have not pursued this, but
suspect that the time zone variable (TZ) is not set when run from inittab.
