Check your activity logs for the message "8778W Scratch vol ... changed to
Private Status to prevent re-access". This should follow a I/O failure or
mount
failure of some kind. The volume was set to private to keep from thrashing on
it for the scratch mount. Investigate and correct the problem, then update it
back
to scratch.
