Just a "checkin libvol"... your 3590 is in a library?

checkin libvol libraryname volser status=scratch devt=3590 checklabel=no

If you use "backup db t=f s=y dev=3590tape" it will use a scratch tape
and perform a full data base backup.

To return the tape to scratch status (we keep a weeks worth) you can
     "del volhist t=dbb tod=-7"
If you run a full dbbackup daily and run the above del volhist daily
you will end up with 7 days worth of data base backups (after 7 days
     go by)

     later,
             Dwight
