The manual says include-exclude is used by backup and HSM.

BTW: I recommend that you backup things like /etc/ibmatl.pid (i.e. the whole
OS)
            with the "System Backup" function in SMIT, by which you'll get a
bootable
            system backup, with which you can restore your machine (at least
the OS and
            the rootvg).
