We're using 10 - DLT7000 drives in a STK9710 library connected to an NT ADSM
V3 server. The tape mount time is about a minute. We see no problem with
the mount time or the tape seek time of the DLT drives in a backup/recovery
situation. If we were doing real time data logging or something like that,
then it would be a different story. We've had no serious DLT reliability
issues.
