The following is second hand info so I am not sure if it is totally
correct or your problem, but:
1) There is a known problem with exchange org names containing "."  IBM
is working on this.  You might contact IBM and ask them to search for
problems in ADSM Connect Exchange related to org name. This is likely to
be your problem.

2) In addition, a second known problem has to do with backing up large
Exchange databases, which are "aggregated" if you are using ADSM V3.
Something goes wrong in the aggregation logic and the backup fails. IBM
has an undocumented command to turn off aggregation for a specific node.
Everything then works fine.
