My understanding is that a client on NT with a small cpu will work harder
and I have a client on NT and attempted both compressed and non-compressed
on 2 different servers 1 with 32meg memory and 1 with 96 meg memory, both
transmitted to the main frame in approx. the same amount of time
with/without compression. I am new also and have not tested the restore as
of yet. Hope this helps.

Subject: Compression
Hello Folks
I would like to know peoples experiences with compression (ON or OFF). We
are NT 4.0 Client 2.1.0.6. backing up to AIX server. We have some clients
using compression and some not. From your experiences, are there any
problems with restoring, etc. to look out for? Is it recommended or not??
Should I or shouldn't I? Any guidance or suggestions would be much
appreciated....
Regards.....Rob
