Check out the "Installing the Clients" manual in the chapter discussing
installation of the UNIX clients. There is a section on setting up environment
variables, one of which is DSM_LOG (which indicates where the dsmerror.log file
gets written).

Subject: dsmerror.log location

On AIX 4.2 with ADSM V3.1, is there a way to force the dsmerror.log to
go to a specific location. The only reference to dsmerror.log I found
is in the ADSM V3.1 Error Messages Guide where it's mentioned to set
an environment variable called DSMG_LOG. I've set this env variable
in the /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/rc.adsmserv startup shell script but it
doesn't seem to work fine. How can I force this log to go where I
     want it to go?

     Thanks,
     Sylvain
