This is a known problem fixed around ADSM 2.1.5,9 or 2.1.5.10. The latest fix
is 2.1.5.18. You can obtain this fix via the ADSM web site:

http://www.ibm.com/storage/adsm

From there, follow the "ADSM hardware and software requirements, supported
devices and databases, client code, fixes" link, then "ADSM server fixes". From
there, find the "ADSM for AIX Versions 2.1 and 2.1.5" entry in the table. To
the right of that entry, click on "U451820 & U451821". This will take you out
to the directory on our FTP site that has the ADSM AIX server fixes. Be sure to
read file "v2r1m5f18.README.ftp" first, which tells you which files to download
and how to get the installation started.

After applying the fix, try bringing up ADSM.

Subject: We can't start our ADSM server

Hi ADSMers.

We had a power failure here in our site.
After, when we try to start the ADSM server, we get the folowing
messages:

ANR0900I Processing options file dsmserv.opt.
ANR0990I ADSM server restart-recovery in progress.
ANR0200I Recovery log assigned capacity is 16 megabytes.
ANR0201I Database assigned capacity is 440 megabytes.
ANR0306I Recovery log volume mount in progress.
ANR0353I Recovery log analysis pass in progress.
03/19/1998 08:28:58 ANR9999D Monitor mutex acquisition failed; thread 0 (tid
4026807976).
03/19/1998 08:28:58 ANR7838S Server operation terminated.

The "ADSM Messages" manual don't have any explanations about this
message (ANR9999D).

Does someone know how can we fix this problem ?

Our environment:

AIX 4.1.5
ADSM server 2.1.5.6
SP2, R40

Thanks.
