Christoph,

Can you use a special management class for the Informix logs?  This
assumes that you can set some arbitrary retention period for such logs
rather than saying that all redo logs covering the period of the last
nnn database backups must be retained.

You would probably have to exclude the logs from your standard backups
and back them up separately at the end of the run.
