Only if you never do reclamation, or you don't use collocation. If you
have a requirement to do quick full disk restores, then use a collocated
tape pool. But, one should only use this if you have the above
requirement.
Actually, if you are using tapes with a large capacity, you can use a
collocated pool and limit the number of tapes in the pool either by
manually adding tape volumes to the pool or by limiting maxscratch. In
this way, you will get "mostly" collocated data on tapes and usually only
need to mount one and perhaps more than one tape to do a restore.
