[Robert wrote on adjusting his adsm server dasd spaces .. wts]

Given that you have a little extra disk space, you can move everything
while the server remains online. The admin guide details the steps
well, but in general the steps are

1. define a new space to the operating system, as necessary, and
format it with the adsm dasd space formatting utility.

2. Make the space available to adsm, as necessary.

3. Tell adsm about the space with the define command

Steps 4-6 are for DB or LOG space ...

4. Tell adsm to "expand" the (db or log) area to include your space.

5. Tell adsm to "reduce" the (db or log) area to not include space to
be removed. (this and previous step can be combined).

6. Tell adsm to "detach" the old space. adsm will start a task to
move what's on the old space to elsewhere in the (db or log) area.

For a storage group disk space to be deleted, mark the volume as
readonly and then migrate the data elsewhere (MOVE DATA). Delete
volume, when empty.

Hope this helps,
wayne
