Jerry,

I too am working on parallel SYSPLEX here in addition to ADSM. I agree
that this would be of value but wonder about the ROI on the development
effort. MVS systems seldom go down (I know they still do and 100% up time
is a noble goal). However, I suspect that the weakest link is the
communication network followed by the client itself. Although "fixing" the
server would improve overall reliability, I think that the percentage
improvement wouldn't be that great given the reliability of the other
components of the equation.

BTW compared with other products I have been involved with (all types not
just workstation backup), ADSM is one of the best 24x7 environments I have
ever encountered. The ability to change most anything with respect to the
configuration (database, recovery log, storage pools) without taking the
server down is extremely valuable.
