In the area of the rumour mill, one of the problems, I surmise, with
creating an client agent for the AS400 is that the design architecture
of the AS400 is not client server based, therefore certain changes to
the operating systems itself has to be made before it can be made
available as a client node in a network system.  IBM might be reluctant
to make fundamental changes to the AS400 operating system and that may
be where the bottleneck is located.
