Regarding Marthas' request to keep mails short by not including
all the text from previous mails on a thread :-
I agree that a summary of the relevant detail in a thread should
be kept in the reply, so that anyone can pick up the "thread"!
A couple of points I'd like to make for general consumption are
these : -
1) Would people who raise requests for information PLEASE include
the relevant info on their Server platform and any associated
products. This helps a great deal when formulating a reply and
makes a useful and speedy reply much more likely!!
E.G.: Questions about offsiting ADSM tapes - If the Server runs
on MVS and you have CA-1 tape management system - this
information is extremely relevant.)
2) I know there are a multiplicity of different mail programs out
there, but : - I find it extremely frustrating when reading a
mail that disappears outside the right hand boundary of my mail
program (it only happens in a few cases).
