Um...Since you state that you're splitting you server in two, why the
concern over volume usage. As far as I know, the ONLY real way to
split data (move a node to a new server) is via Export Node/Import
Node.
As such, It really doesn't make any difference where the data is
because it will all get written to export tapes. BTW keep track of
the volsers (needed for import).
Did I understand your task correctly?

Trevor,
IF you only have a small number of nodes and you know their names (try
the "Q NODE" command) you could try "Q CONTENT volser COUNT=1
NODE=loop through all node names". If you get no hits, there is no
data on volser for the specified node. If you have a lot of nodes,
you may have to get clever with some automated scripting and
reporting. :-(
