scratching tapes in mvs, more info

Subject: scratching tapes in mvs, more info

After further investigation, I have found that adsm is scratching the
tape fine.  Ca1 accepts it as scratched.  However, the next time the tape
is used, we get two messages.

The first is an mvs message that the tape is an unlabeled tape.  Then we
get an 88 message from ca1.  It appears that when adsm scratches the
tape, it destroys its label.

Any ideas out there?  I checked the activity log, and the messages appear
normal.  extract from log follows:
