We use the TelAlert product, from Telamon, Inc. There is a telalertc
client command for AIX, and we have rigged an snmptrapd arrangement to
talk to that server, given that so much datacomm equipment likes to
send SNMPtrap messages to inform an administrative system of problems.
A drawback on the personal side is that alphameric beepers are larger
and heavier than their more rudimentary counterparts.
