Easy.
You could use the following command
update volume * access=readw wherestatus=empty
This will mark all volumes that are empty , read write.

1) q vol stg=copypool st=empty
: gives list of empty/offsite volsers
2) upd vol nnnnnn acc=readw
: from list above, if tapes were scratch, deletes them from
inventory, otherwise makes them available to be written upon

hi-all,
i have an mvs adsm server. i got these messages when i restarted the
server.
ANR1423W Scratch volume 162157 is empty but will not be deleted - volume
access
mode is
"offsite".
ANR1423W Scratch volume 162135 is empty but will not be deleted - volume
access
mode is "offsite".
does this mean the offsite tapepool (copypool) will continue to grow and
grow? how do i make sure (or verify) that tapes are being returned to
scratch status when adsm is done with them?
thanks,
steve white
