Eric, you can schedule the DB2/2 backup commands using the ADSM scheduler.
There is a section in the redbook, 5.2 ADSM Central Scheduling Facility,
that shows how to use the ADSM scheduler to schedule a client OS command.
What I recommend is scheduling a script that has the commands in it.
You can also use OS/2 tools that do scheduling (like chron).

I'm surprised to hear that DB2 toronto said something was wrong in the
redbook section since they wrote it!  I wonder if it is just a miscommunication
