I'm using the subject book to back up an Informix 7.22 database and I am
finding the books directions to be incorrect and vague.

On page 124-125 regarding 6.3.6.1, Step 1 specifies we should create a
link:

ln -s /usr/lpp/adsm/api/bin/libXApi.a /usr/lib/ibsd001.a.

However the file specified, /usr/lpp/adsm/api/bin/libXApi.a,  does not
exist.  The only library in the directory is libXApiDS.a, which the
README.api file says is for DB2/6000 setup.  Can anyone shed some light.


On page 125 in the same section, Step 2 specifies to make and entry in the
dsm.sys file, set passwordaccess to generate, but does not give the full
syntax and I can not find it in the documention.  I added "passwordaccess
generate" at the bottom.  More light please.

On page 125 in the same section, Stem 5 talks about env variables.  It says
they must be in the Informix user, but also available to root.  I put them
in /etc/profile so everyone gets them.  This book is awfully dark.
